    Chouriço (pronounced SHO-reet-suh) is a delicious Portuguese pork sausage made with spices and red wine. As the country’s most popular sausage, Chouriço is served in myriad ways: sliced rounds in savory stews; flame-grilled in backyard BBQ; or fried with eggs at breakfast. As a cousin of the better-known Spanish Chorizo, there are similarities. But the primary differences are that Chouriço is made with more garlic, is smokier in taste, and is made with splashes of red wine.
